In November, we help our nonprofit clients prepare for Giving Tuesday, an online campaign to invite donors to give to nonprofits after Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Established in 2012, Giving Tuesday helps nonprofits raise money for various causes. In 2018, donors gave $400 Million to participating nonprofits. If you are part of a charitable organization, you too can participate in Giving Tuesday with some planning and a captivating message.
Set up Giving Tuesday Page Content
Take this opportunity to create Giving Tuesday-focused images and messaging for your sites, landing page, homepage banners and calls-to-action throughout your site.
Giving Tuesday’s website offers guides and logos to help you create images and messages that match Giving Tuesday’s branding.
Push Your Giving Tuesday Message Through Email and Social Media
Develop a combined message push through your email and social media outreach. Through email, make use of the message you developed for your web pages. Send a unique message to recurring donors, since they are already bought in to your cause. On social media, create a unique hashtag to go with #GivingTuesday. Make sure to register as a participating organization on Giving Tuesday’s directory.
Have a Compelling Ask
Most donors are already motivated to give to causes close to their hearts. To guarantee they donate to your cause, give them a little more motivation with an ask.
For example, if your organization has a generous sponsor, request them to match incoming donations. If a donation is matched by a larger organization, donors that feel their donation makes a bigger impact, and that they are part of a group effort.
This year’s Giving Tuesday falls on December 3rd, 2019. It’s not too late to prepare for Giving Tuesday–contact us to discuss our options.
